Summer Reading Program

Eastern Local Schools is partnering with the Eastern Branch Library for the Summer Reading Program.

We want to encourage students to continue reading over the summer. The Summer Reading Program kicks off on June 6th. Visit the library at 310 Third St. in Beaver that evening for the Kickoff event starting at 5:00pm for sweet treats and activities. You can visit the library any time to get registered for the Summer Reading Program and receive your bag with information and reading logs.

Once a student completes the program the library will give them a prize. The school and teachers are also planning a surprise when we return to school after summer break for those who complete the program.

Ages 3-12 will need to read 20 books or 30 minutes each week

Ages 13-17 will need to read 4 age appreciate books or 4 hours each week

Adults will need to read 5 books or 5 hours each week

You can use books from home or the library, but you must log them. Magazines, eBooks and audio books also count toward your minutes or books read.

Students can even take AR tests at the library but are not required to.

Grab a friend or family member and complete the summer reading program together! Don’t forget to turn your logs into the library for a prize at the library and a surprise once you return to school.
